Barbara Jean Watson, daughter of the late David H. and Elsie Mae Reynolds Powell, was born on Friday, June 30, 1939, in Kennett and departed this life on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire at the age of 84 years 11 months 11 days. Barbara was raised and educated in Kennett. She met and married Charles H. Watson in 1958 while he was stationed at the Blytheville Air Force Base. Together, they moved within the military for many years until his retirement. After retirement they settled in New Hampshire and made their home in Milford in 1976. She worked at the Norton Company in Milford as an assembler for many years. Barbara enjoyed her family, trips to her hometown of Kennett, reading and craft fairs. Survivors include a son, Charles R. Watson of Colorado; two daughters, Sherry Foskett & her husband, Steve of Milford, New Hampshire & Brenda Hebert & her husband, Max of Edmund, Oklahoma; three brothers, Robert Powell of Kennett, Johnny Powell & his wife, Donna of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, James Powell of Malden; four sisters, Linda Shepard, Betty Halter, & Carol Powell, all of Kennett, Marie Davis of Piggott, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Heather Faye, Shawn Foskett, Christopher Watson, Brandon Foskett, Seth Hebert, Eric Hebert and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles H. Watson and her grandson, Craig Watson. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Smith & Heald Funeral Home Chapel in Milford, New Hampshire with Mr. James Powell officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until the time of service. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Milford, New Hampshire.
