Barbara Faye (Boone) Hamlett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and teacher, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2024, at the age of 81. She was born on March 14, 1943, to Herdle A. and Nyna F. Boone in Bragg City, Missouri. Barbara was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 58 years, Billy Conn Hamlett, who passed earlier this year on January 28, 2024. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and community. Barbara is survived by her loving family, including her brother, Bobby (Sheila) Boone of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; her two sons, Byron C. Hamlett of Ashland City, Tennessee, and Roger L. (Erica) Hamlett of Joelton, Tennessee; and her cherished grandchildren, Hannah E. Hamlett and Joshua H. Hamlett of Gallatin, Tennessee as well as many extended family members. A dedicated member of the Madison Church of Christ since 1980, Barbara’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her kind spirit and warm smile touched everyone she met, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. Barbara spent 30 years as an elementary school teacher at Alex Green Elementary School, where she made a lasting impact on countless young lives. Barbara also had a love for collecting family photographs, preserving precious memories for future generations. She found joy and solace working in her yard and helping neighbors and friends. Barbara’s legacy of love, faith, and dedication will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but forever remembered. Pallbearers are Bobby Boone, Byron Hamlett, Roger Hamlett, Sonny Boone, Joshua Hamlett and Cliff Collins Funeral services to be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Chapel in Kennett, MO with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm until time of service. Burial following the service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
