Anne Adele Hardin Metheny was born on Saturday, July 21, 1945, in Jonesboro, AR and departed this on Monday, May 22, 2023, at National Health Care HC in Kennett at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 1 day. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Bernice Hardin, and her husband, Larry. Anne was a 1963 graduate of Senath High School. After moving to Memphis, TN, her and Larry met and later married in 1966. After a short stint in Memphis, they moved to Kennett where they lived for over five decades. She owned and operated Anne's Hallmark Store on the courthouse square for many years. She was an active member of the Slicer Street Church of Christ. She adored her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Survivors include her son, Brad of Kennett; son, Glen (Gretchen) of Searcy, AR; grandchildren, Mackenzie Metheny, Molly Vaughn (Tyler), Noah Metheny, Sally Metheny, Griffin Metheny (Maddie), Gracie Jobe (Derek), and Gabby Metheny. Visitation will be Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Slicer Street Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR 72450 Powell Funeral & Cremation Services, Kennett is in charge of arrangements.
