View Funeral Webcast Lea Alma Garcia, born on May 22, 1942, in Bell City, MO, passed away on November 6, 2023, in Arnold, MO. She was married to Tony Garcia for 61 years and he preceded her in death on January 19th, 2023; he was her soul mate, and it hurt her immensely when he passed. She is survived by her daughter, Stacey Leanne Garcia (Walker); her only grandson, Adam; and son-in-law, Kent of Arnold MO; her sister Jan and Jim Counts of Cape Girardeau, MO; her brother Don and Anita Folkes of Paragould, AR; and many nieces and nephews. Family was Lea's source of joy, cherishing moments with her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews. Her dear friend of 45 years, Helen Copeland, held a special place in her heart, as did her beloved grandson, Adam. Lea found immense happiness in reading to Adam, engaging in playful activities, such as playing ball, bouncing balloons, building with Legos, conducting science experiments, and discussing space and tornadoes. Her "Meemaw Burger" was a special delight she loved preparing for Adam. Lea was inherently compassionate, always considering ways to support others. Her favorite pastime was reading and sharing books, especially with her sister Jan, nieces Pennie and Tammy, and her daughter Stacey. Sharing moments watching 'Downton Abbey' and scary movies with Stacey brought them closer. They loved shopping, eating meals at her favorite spots like Pasta House and Rizzo's, and often enjoying coffee and lemon loaf from Starbucks together. She was a deeply special person to those fortunate enough to know her, fiercely protective of her loved ones, always desiring the best for her daughter, grandson, and son-in-law.
