Alan Jones, a respected cotton and peanut farmer, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Paragould, Arkansas. Born on June 11, 1964, in Senath, Missouri, Alan lived a life marked by a steadfast commitment to excellence in all he undertook.
Alan’s work as a farmer was characterized by his unwavering determination and wholehearted effort; anything he did, he did to the best of his ability. His deep connection to the land and to farming shaped not only his career but also the values he instilled in those around him. His passion extended beyond the fields—Alan loved to hunt and was particularly accomplished at deer hunting, yet he found an equal thrill in pursuing coyotes, a pastime he enjoyed immensely.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melinda Parker Jones, with whom he shared their home in Senath, Missouri. Together, they raised a family that was central to Alan’s life and legacy. Their son, Alex Jones, resides in Senath, their daughter, Allyson Jones and her husband, Logan, resides in Senath as well and their daughter, Kacey Trout and her husband, Ory live in Paragould, Arkansas. Alan’s joy was further enriched by his cherished grandchildren: Leigha Jo Jones, Evie Trout, and Chace Jones, who brought light and laughter to his days.
Alan was born to Bobby Jerrell Jones and Mavis Hatch Jones, his devoted parents who reside in Senath. He is also survived by his brother, Tim Jones of Senath and his sisters, Jill Worrell and her husband Stuart of Rives, Missouri, and Amy Keating and her husband Corey of Paragould, Arkansas. His extended family included his mother-in-law, Phyllis Parker of Senath, who shared a close bond with Alan. The family mourns the loss of Charles Parker, Alan’s father-in-law, who preceded him in death.
The community and family remember Alan Jones as a man of integrity and perseverance, a dedicated family man, and a true steward of the land he so loved. His unexpected passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew him. Alan’s legacy of hard work, kindness, and passion will endure through the lives of those he touched and the fertile fields he so carefully tended.
